A late comeback fell short for the South Dakota men’s basketball team in a 77-74 loss at Oral Roberts Thursday night inside the Mabee Center.

South Dakota had a chance to tie the game with a Stanley Umude 3-point shot as time was expiring but the shot missed giving the Golden Eagles their fourth Summit League victory. Oral Roberts, 8-13 overall and 4-2 in Summit League action, was led by Kevin Obanor with 31 points on 7-of-14 shooting and 16-of-18 from the free throw line.

Juniors Tyler Peterson and Cody Kelley each tallied double-doubles for the Coyotes. Peterson totaled 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds while Kelley scored 14 points and grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds. Umude led USD with 21 points.

South Dakota is 8-10 overall and 2-3 in the league.
