South Dakota head golf coach Nick Hovden has announced the singing of Christina “Sunny” Kilian to a National Letter of Intent, joining the women’s golf team from Tuerkheim, Germany.
“We’re more than thrilled to have Sunny join our Coyote family next fall,” said Hovden. “Aside from her talent on the course and potential to make an immediate impact, Sunny is a terrific young lady with a personality that will fit right in with the team. Sunny is from a family with deep golfing roots, and with that comes a strong work ethic and passion for the game.”
Kilian currently ranks 23rd in the German Junior Golf Rankings Age Class 18, 236th in the European Golf Rankings age group U18 and 679th in the World Junior Golf Rankings (which consists of 45 countries). In the past year, Kilian claimed one event title at the Allianz German Girls Open Qualifikation and beat six top-10 players. Kilian also placed third at the BGV Qualifikation Mӓdchen, fifth at the Portuguese Intercollegiate Open and seventh at the Bayerische Meisterchaft Mӓdchen AK 18. She averages 77.5 strokes per round.
