A pair of University of South Dakota runners have grabbed weekly honors from the Summit League as the top cross country performers.
– South Dakota’s Mubarik Musa was named Summit League Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for his performance during the season-opening weekend through Sept. 6. The honor marks the first weekly award of the season.

- Collected his third career Athlete of the Week award
- Won the Bison Open with a time of 18:43.4
- Helped team to highest finish among the three Summit League teams competing at four-team event
- Has won three of league’s last four weekly honors dating back to 2014

- Won the Bison Open (4k) with a time of 13:58.0
- Helped team to meet victory against field that included two additional Summit League teams
