South Dakota junior Megan Green has been named Summit League Pitcher of the Week for the period ended April 2.
It is the first career honor for Green, who hails from Rapid City, S.D.
Green pitched 11 scoreless innings and allowed just eight hits in helping the Coyotes take two out of three from rival South Dakota State during a series played this past weekend at Nygaard Field. She tossed a two-hit shutout, the first shutout of her collegiate career, in Sunday’s rubber match. Green pitched five scoreless innings in relief in the first game of the series, a 7-6, extra-inning win on Saturday.
Green has allowed one earned run and opponents are batting just .218 against her thru two Summit League series for an ERA of 0.50. The Coyotes have a doubleheader against sixth-ranked Minnesota Tuesday in Minneapolis before returning home to host Omaha in a three-game series starting Saturday.
