South Dakota golfer Samuel Matthew was named The Summit League Men’s Golfer of the Week on Wednesday after placing second at the Beu/Mussatto Invitational. It’s the third time he has received the honor this season.

The junior was second out of 82 competitors with a 54-hole total of 223 (71-74-78) to lead the Coyotes to a second-place finish out 13 teams. It was the best finish of his collegiate career and best team finish the Coyotes have recorded this season.

The Coyotes will next compete at the Tennessee State Big Blue Intercollegiate on April 14-15 in Old Hickory, Tenn.
