– Senior defensive specialist Riley Haug was named the Summit League’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week in a league release on Monday. It’s the first time she has earned the honor.

The native of Gretna, Neb., recorded double-digit digs in each of South Dakota’s three matches this past weekend at the Creighton Classic. She was named to the all-tournament team. Haug tallied 23 digs in USD wins over Colorado and Creighton, and added 18 more digs in a loss to No. 16 Illinois.

Statistically for the weekend, she tallied 64 digs at a 5.33 per set clip and added nine assists and three service aces.

The Coyotes start Summit League play on Friday when they host North Dakota State at 7 p.m. They’ll also host Oral Roberts on Sunday at 1 p.m.
