Three University of South Dakota athletes have earned weekly honors from the Summit League this week.

South Dakota freshman Chris Nilsen has captured his second consecutive Summit League Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award as announced by the league office Tuesday.

Nilsen has broken the school record for the second straight week. He cleared 18 feet, 1 inch, to win the Jim Emmerich Invitational in Brookings, S.D., on Saturday. Nilsen’s mark tops the Summit by more than 6 inches and ranks third in the NCAA.

South Dakota senior diver Greysen Hertting and freshman swimmer Josh Sorbe have been named Summit League Athletes of the Week as released by the league office Tuesday.

A native of Appleton, Wis., Hertting extends her league record by being named the Diver of the Week for the 30th time in her career. She earns the award for the fifth time this season after sweeping both boards on Friday and Saturday against Western Illinois.

Hailing from Brookings, S.D., Sorbe earned his first Athlete of the Week award. He finished first-place in three events as the Coyotes beat the Leathernecks Friday with a score of 136-101 and then Saturday by a score of 140-100.
