The first shipments of Covid-19 vaccine arrived Monday in South Dakota and immunizations are being given to front line healthcare workers.
Dr David Basel with Avera Health in Sioux Falls says most of the Pfizer vaccine will be used in the Sioux Falls area..

Basel says they expect to get more doses to distribute across a wider area when the Moderna vaccine is approved…

Basel says both vaccines will require two shots, which increases the effectiveness….

Both Avera Health and Sanford will be moving the vaccines to their facilities across the region.
