This week a federal court judge ruled the state of Iowa cannot enforce it’s latest attempt to stifle undercover investigations of livestock farms. Iowa Pork Producers Association Attorney Eldon McAfee says the ruling throws out the newest ag protection law.
He says the court decision means it’s not a crime for employees to misrepresent themselves to gain a job on a farm or livestock operation.
McAfee says now producers will have to be more vigilant in their hiring process and be careful as to who they choose to employ.
This week’s preliminary injunction stopped the new ag protection or ag gag law and prevent the state from enforcing that law.
