The Corps of Engineers is stepping up the pace of expanding flood storage capacity on the big reservoirs on the Missouri River.

The Corps has increased flows from Gavins Point Dam to thirty five thousand cubic feet per second, well above the normal winter flow of twelve to fifteen thousand cubic feet per second.
