Corporate Income Tax Proposal Tabled

A bill that would have put the question of a corporate income tax dedicated to education on the 2016 election ballot was tabled in a South Dakota legislative committee last week. The sponsors of the bill have said they will try again during the session, or may go directly to the ballot with a petition drive.

Republican Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says she doesn’t think that is a winning plan…

Hunhoff says she doubts the corporate income tax bill would make it through the current session of the legislature…

The main run of this session wraps up on March 13th.
