Corn President Speaks At Climate Conference

A delegation representing America’s corn farmers talked about ag sustainability at last week’s climate talks in Paris, France. South Dakota Corn Grower’s President Keith Alverson was part of that. He talked about the soil health partnership corn growers are working on with Monsanto and the Nature Conservancy to mitigate climate change.

Alverson says farmers are also sequestering carbon to benefit the climate.

He says corn growers have also been partnering with SDSU to build up soil carbon and organic matter.

Alverson says they’ve also been working with end users such as Cargill and Kellogs and others to reduce carbon emissions and achieve large scale change for the climate.
