The Environmental Protection Agency has extended the comment period on Atrazine for another 45 days past the original deadline of January 5, 2021. Pleased with that move is Nebraska Corn Grower’s Association President Dan Nerud.

He says all the scientific studies have shown (at-truh-zeen) atrazine to be a safe and effective product.

Nerud says growers have been very responsible when it comes to applying atrazine or any of the chemicals that they use.

Environmental activist groups have lobbied for atrazine to be banned entirely, based on concerns about human health risks and environmental problems related to water quality.
