Several U.S. agricultural groups including the National Corn Growers Association are calling on the Biden administration to make sure the USMCA trade agreement is enforced. Minnesota Corn Grower’s Association President Tim Waibel says the trade problem became apparent about six months ago when Mexico started putting up barriers to biotech crops and glyphosate and following the E.U. standards on those barriers.

He says their national group NCGA has been and continues to weigh in on this issue.

Waibel says resolution is badly needed on this trade issue as Mexico is a critical market for U.S. corn and soybeans.

The U.S. dairy industry is also asking for enforcement of the USMCA due to problems with not only Mexico but with Canada as well.
