Recent reports out of China show the nation’s farmers may have cut more corn acreage. That could prove to be an opportunity for exports of U.S. corn and DDGs to China. South Dakota Corn Grower’s Association President Troy Knecht says the U.S. is in a good position to sell them corn if they choose to import it.

He says any chance for the U.S. to take advantage of export markets needs to be pursued.

Knecht however is cautious any possible Chinese market opening given past developments.

China’s Ministry of Agriculture said their country planted 88 million acres of corn this year, 3.2 % less than last year.
