Corn growers are being urged to write a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency to share comments about their use of the popular herbicide Atrazine. Nebraska Corn Growers Association president, Andy Jobman of Gothenburg, Nebraska says Atrazine herbicide is an effective method for weed control. He tells of the EPA’s intentions of the herbicide. Jobman says the EPA wants to reduce the amount farmers are allowed to apply on their fields. He is encouraging corn growers to speak up about the use of Atrazine. The Nebraska corn growers president says atrazine is found in several pre-mix herbicides, and its elimination would hinder many other herbicides for weed control. He says farmers need to act before the September 6th deadline. Jobman says farmers can go to the Nebraska Corn Growers Association’s website for additional information about the EPA and Atrazine.
