The cross-state rival football game between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa State University Cyclones is scheduled for Saturday at Kinnick Stadium at Iowa City.  Football fans are divided as to their favorite team with Hawkeye fans sporting the black and gold, while Cyclone fans will proudly wear the cardinal red and gold colors.  Iowa Corn Growers serves as the premier sponsor of the football game along with all the athletic competition contests between the Hawkeyes and the Cyclones in what is known as the Cy-Hawk Classic.  Chris Freland is a District Field Manager with Iowa Corn and says people ask why corn growers are sponsoring the event.  Freland says Iowa Corn will hold a large tailgate party along with displays promoting the various uses of corn.  She says the mobile corn trailer will be on hand for people to explore and be better educated about Iowa corn.  Attending corn growers will be urged to sign up as a member of the Iowa Corn Growers Association during the festivities in connection with the big game.
