The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the Customer Protection End User Relief Act. The measure reauthorizes and reforms the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. 30 ag groups including the National Corn Growers Association backed the bill. Iowa Corn Grower’s President Roger Zylstra says he’s pleased the House passed the legislation and says it provides good protections for producers.
Zylstra says he agrees with House Ag Committee Chairman Frank Lucas who says not only does the bill provide protections for producers it also reduces the regulatory load on end users.
He is hoping the Senate will follow suit with the House passage of the legislation.
