The future of ethanol, water quality and taxes will be the major topics of discussion for South Dakota Corn Growers at their annual meeting Saturday in Sioux Falls. Association President Keith Alverson says they kick off the meeting at 8 a.m. with their resolution session.
He says they’ll also discuss how to work with the EPA this year to make sure that the 2017 RFS volume levels are raised to the statutory level.
Alverson says their major concern on the state level is preventing the ag land assessments from being shifted so crop land is assessed more than other land.
He says other policy issues include protecting crop insurance from any further cuts and trying to convince Congress to pass national voluntary biotech labeling.
