The decision this week by the EPA to withdraw approval of Dow Chemical’s Enlist DUO herbicide is disappointing to Mitchell, South Dakota corn grower Chad Blindauer. Blindauer, past Chair of the National Corn Grower’s Biotech committee says Enlist DUO is a needed tool for producers. He says the EPA gave in to environmental groups who took the agency to court.
He says without being able to use Enlist DUO it makes it more difficult to grow enough crops to feed a growing global population..
Blindauer says environmental groups who have charged that farmers are overusing pesticides are way off base and misleading both the EPA and the public.
Center for Food Safety Attorney George Kimbrell says the decision by the EPA to withdraw Enlist Duo is a huge victory for the environment and the future of our food.
