National Corn Grower Association members made Capital Hill visits last week during their annual Corn Congress. NCGA President Lynn Chrisp says they talked about four major issues, including a push for legislation calling for higher octane in the nation’s fuels.
He says NCGA is also working with the ethanol industry to push EPA as they reset the nation’s Renewable Fuels Standard and to ask for reallocation of volumes lost with the approval of small refinery waivers.
Chrisp says they’re also urging Congress to ratify the USMCA trade deal, with a vote unlikely until later this fall.
Chrisp says they had a good turnout at Corn Congress and were successful in spreading their message among lawmakers.
