Corn Congress in Washington This Week

National Corn Growers Association members are in Washington D.C. this week attending their Corn Congress and holiday a Rally for Rural America. South Dakota Corn Growers President Keith Alverson who’s an NCGA Board member says their rally is to drum up continued support for the Renewable Fuel Standard and ethanol.

Alverson says there’s good support in the Senate for getting the RFS volume levels up to the statutory requirements but the real challenge is with non rural members of the House.

Alverson says Corn growers need to continue working to build strong alliances that favor a strong R-F-S and convince elected officials not to buy into attempts to roll back or repeal the standard.
