National Corn Grower’s Association members held their annual Corn Congress this week. President Kevin Ross says it was a virtual event due to the pandemic but despite that they had some positive discussions on issues affecting their industry.

He says their members also talked about renewable fuels and climate change.

Ross says their corn grower members are pleased with trade agreements, especially with the recent implementation of the USMCA pact and recent corn purchases made by China.

Ross says their delegates elected five farmers to serve on the organization’s Corn Board. Taking office on October 1, the start of NCGA’s 2021 fiscal year are new board members Brian Thalmann of Minnesota, and Jed Bower of Ohio. Re-elected were current board members Brandon Hunnicutt of Nebraska, Ken Hartman of Illinois and Gary Porter of Missouri.
