Copper thieves are targeting the Nebraska Public Power District. Spokesperson Mark Becker says several thefts are under investigation.
Becker says the thieves are putting themselves in danger for just a few bucks, and putting their customers in jeopardy of losing service.
Becker says the break-ins have been at three rural locations in southeast Nebraska. NPPD is working with law enforcement to catch the thieves.
