The South Dakota legislature this session dealt with a resolution calling for a constitutional convention of the states. The resolution passed the House, but died in a Senate committee. It sounds like the issue will be back next year.
David Schneider is the Regional Director for “Convention of the States Action” a group pushing for the constitutional convention.
He says they are working to educate people about the issue and the process………

Schneider spoke to the Rotary Club in Yankton yesterday. He says the convention idea comes directly from the constitution, and is driven by the gridlock in Washington…….

Schneider says they will be back in Pierre next session…..

Schneider says seven states have approved the resolution so far. They need thirty eight to sign on to hold the convention.
