Bottle rockets, firecrackers and other aerial fireworks would be legal in Minnesota under a controversial bill up for a vote in the state House this afternoon (4pm start). Governor Mark Dayton opposes it:
Sparklers and ground devices have been legal in Minnesota since 2002 and bill sponsor, Republican Jason Rarick from Pine City, says the state is losing millions of dollars in tax revenue per year from residents buying fireworks in other states. (Dayton vetoed a similar bill in 2012)
