Continuous sign-up for the Conservation Reserve Program began Monday and runs until August 17. Nebraska Farm Service Agency Division Chief for Conservation and Environment Programs Greg Reisdorff says they’ve restarted the program after putting it on hold for a time. He says their cap is 24 million acres nationally.
He says C-R-P has always been a popular program and interest has picked up even more recently.
Reisdorff says the deadline for continuous C-R—P sign up is August 17..
Reisdorff says for any C-R-P contract that’s expiring this fall and is less than 15 years old, enrollees can apply for a one-year extension. For more information or to make an appointment contact your local county Farm Service Agency office.
