Consumers can learn more about the dairy industry and how dairy products are produced at Dairy Fest in Brookings, South Dakota. Dairy Fest Coordinator Larissa Neugebauer says their goal with the three-day event is to make the public aware of the importance of the dairy industry in the state and region.

Dairy Fest Chairman Darrel Rennich says they also want consumers to see why dairy farmers use the practices they do on their farms to produce milk.

Neugebauer says Friday they’ll hold a Fork to Farm educational event at the Boys N Girls Club and then Saturday is a big day of family focused activities with a carnival at the Swiftel Center, plus farm and processing tours.

The three-day dairy celebration kicked off last night with the 5th Annual Got Milk Gala, which featured Fairlife and Fair Oaks Farms founder Sue McCloskey.
