The Center for Consumer Freedom, a non-profit consumer advocacy group, has filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission against the Humane Society of the United States for orchestrating a deceptive advertising campaign. CCF Managing Director Will Coggin says the complaint is related to how much of the HSUS budget is spent on fundraising.
He says several donors to HSUS have joined them in the FTC complaint.
Coggin says his group will also be voicing their concerns to other government authorities in hopes of bringing some type of enforcement action against HSUS.
Coggin says donors want to help homeless animals not D.C. executives who mislead the public about how their money will be used.
