Domestic consumer demand for pork is expected to either rise or remain stable as consumers select the best protein meat as food prices continue to increase. Due to the liquation of some cattle herds, beef prices are expected to continue to go up, which according to Scott Hays, the new president of the National Pork Producers Council, he says domestic demand for pork saw a spike during COVID.
Hays says economic conditions will allow pork to be the consumer’s preferred choice.
