Construction is on schedule for AGP’s new soybean processing plant in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Adam Piper, AGP Merchandising Manager for Soy Processing says several weeks after the official ground breaking, the project is right on target.
He says the soybean plant location in Aberdeen makes it one of the farthest north and west of any soy processing facility in the corn belt.
And Piper says that location will give them a direct shot by railroad to the AGP meal facility in the Pacific Northwest. He says this is the main outlet for exports to top southeast Asian soybean and soybean meal customers.
He says the soybean oil from the processing plant in Aberdeen will be refined in their biodiesel facilities in their recently expanded plant in Sargent Bluff, Iowa or at St. Joseph, Missouri.
