Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell says the Senate won’t consider immigration reform during this session of Congress. He says it likely will be pushed off until January of 2017 at the earliest. South Dakota Dairy Producers President, Marv Post says his industry needs a reform package passed to allow them to have a legal workforce available to them.

Post says a federal program is needed rather than piecemeal state regulations which have proven to be unworkable.

He says the need for his industry doesn’t go away just because 2016 is an election year.

He says they’ll continue to try and work with lawmakers to get some type of package approved.
Post says his group has been working with Virginia Congressman Bob Goodlatte in hopes of finding some type of immigration reform program.
