Last week a U.S. House Subcommittee held a hearing looking at trade and the need to push forward aggressive trade agreements to gain export markets. Nebraska Farm Bureau Director of National Affairs Jordon Dukes says that would open new markets for America’s farmers and ranchers.
He says recently trade progress was made in Africa, the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Duke says the administration has been slow on moving forward with its trade policy and they need to get going. Another thing that will improve trade is the U.S.’s effort to reform the World Trade Organization but he says that will take time.
Dukes says its imperative U.S. trade officials keep looking for new agricultural markets for our livestock and grain producers.
