The republican primary in House District 19 is one of the most competitive in the state with five candidates running for the two slots that will move to the November general election ballot.

Other candidates in the race include Michael Boyle of Parkston, Drew Peterson of Salem, Roger Hofer of Bridgewater and Representative Caleb Finck of Tripp who was formerly in District 21.
