Common Sense Nebraska, a group started by seven agricultural groups has added 20 more members, all opposed to EPA’s proposed Waters of the U.S. Rule. Common Sense member and Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson says 11 non ag organizations who say they’ll be negatively impacted by the rule if it goes into effect became part of their group.
Nelson says also joining were the Nebraska Banker’s Association, Nebraska Rural Electric and Nebraska Resource Districts. He says they added two ag groups, the Corn Board and Sorghum Producers Association who are concerned about negative impacts to farmers and ranchers from the rule.
Nelson says Nebraska’s entire Congressional Delegation are also giving their support to the Common Sense group in opposing EPA. Each member is being encouraged to submit comments on the rule and have until October 21 to do that.
