South Dakota legislators will again debate the merits of Common Core educational standards. The state has adopted the general guidelines of Common Core, which was developed by a majority of states in the country.
Representative Jim Bolin of Canton says he will bring at least one of his bills back from last year.
Bolin says he knows the Governor supports the use of Common Core standards.
Bolin says the state needs high achievement standards for students, but should set our own benchmarks.
At least four states have made moves to opt out of the Common Core standards.
