While a couple of bills that would limit the use of Common Core educational standards in the state have been defeated in the legislature, the debate is not done.

Representative Jim Bolin of Canton says there was good support in the House for his resolution that would have phased out the standards…

 

Governor Dennis Daugaard has said he supports the use of Common Core to bring state schools in line with other states.

Bolin says he has other bills still coming up for debate…

 

Bolin, who has been a vocal opponent of the standards for the last several years, says other legislators are sponsoring similar bills…
