Commodity Groups Set Policy at Commodity Classic

Many major commodity organizations will set policy at this week’s Commodity Classic.  South Dakota farmer and American Soybean Association director Brandon Wipf says they caucused with states like North Dakota and Minnesota earlier in the week.  Policy discussion included EPA’s regulatory overreach like use of the Endangered Species Act when labeling and re-approving herbicides.  This has restricted use in some counties at a time when they are already facing shortages due to supply chain issues.

He says at the American Soybean Association’s resolution session he also expects lively debate on Right to Repair.

Wipf says they are also starting to lay the early groundwork for the 2023 farm program.

The resolutions session is set for Saturday.
