The Yankton City Commission is hoping to partner with the Yankton County Commission to make improvements to West City Limits Road. Yankton City Manager, Amy Nelson, says the road needs repair, and they are looking to the county to help fund it.

Nelson says the county’s response was positive, but a bridge project on Old Highway 50 is a county priority.

She says her goal is to make the road repairs a four or five year process. Once the repairs are made, the city hopes to obtain jurisdiction over the entire road instead of sharing that control with the county.
