Now that the Yankton City Commission has decided the new water plant will be built next to the existing plant near Riverside Park, there is discussion on how it should look.

City Manager Amy Nelson said they have been talking with the plant designer about how the new and old buildings can fit into the park…

 

Nelson says the water plants will be in a transition area between the Meridian Bridge Plaza and the park…

 

Steve Quail with designers HDR told the commission that they need to hear any ideas they may have…

 

Commissioners then agreed to form a committee to look at possible designs, and spend up to fifty four thousand dollars on the project.
