The U.S. Department of Commerce has determined there are no changed circumstances and is keeping countervailing duties on imports of biodiesel from Argentina. The National Biodiesel Board is hailing the decision. NBB’s Paul Winters says they appreciate the Commerce Department supporting U.S. biodiesel at a time when producers and plants have been dealing with the pandemic as well as RFS waiver problems.

He says the counter vailing duties became necessary when it was apparent several years ago Argentina was dumping its biodiesel into the U.S.

Winters says had the Commerce Department not upheld the duties there would have been extensive damage caused to America’s biodiesel producers, farmers and the whole economy.

Winters says his group thanks Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and Congressional leadership for amplifying the industry’s push for fair trade conditions with this ruling.
