Spring fieldwork is off to a late start. University of Minnesota Extension Climatologist Mark Seeley this is the result of six consecutive months of below normal temperatures and a deep winter frost. Seeley says now is the time farmers are usually beginning to plant corn:

 

Seeley says producers probably won’t be able to begin fieldwork in earnest until the last week of April.
