An Iowan who’s serving in the Trump Administration after working on Trump’s 2016 campaign says Iowans should trust Donald Trump’s negotiating skills. Sam Clovis, a former Morningside College economics professor, is urging farmers to “be calm” amid the angst over falling commodity prices and tariff threats.
Clovis, a Republican candidate for the U-S Senate in 2014, joined the Trump campaign in August of 2015 and is now working in the U-S-D-A. Clovis suggests some headway already has been made in the trade dispute with China.
Clovis spoke to the Westside Conservative Club in Des Moines.
