Nearly $116,000 was raised for Feeding South Dakota at this weekend’s South Dakota Cattlemen’s Prime Time Gala in Sioux Falls. The total was a combination of proceeds from the concert, the banquet and a live auction. Ryan Eichler of Elanco Animal Health, one of the event sponsors, says they were excited with the success of the program and the chance to provide beef to hungry families in the state.
He says their donation will help Feeding South Dakota leverage their dollars to buy more beef. Part of the donation will also be used for South Dakota cattle producers who want to donate live animals to the cause.
Feeding South Dakota will begin distributing the beef at their food pantry outlets throughout the state as soon as they secure the most effective buy for the product.
