Yankton County voters returned one incumbent to the county commission and elected two newcomers.
Incumbent republican Dan Klimisch led all candidates with twenty five percent of the vote followed by republicans Ryan Heine with twenty two percent and John Marquardt with nineteen percent.
Just behind, within a recount margin, was incumbent independent Cheri Loest with nineteen percent.
In District 16, incumbent republican Senator Jim Bolin of Canton was reelected along with republican representative Kevin Larson and challenger Karla Lems.
In District 17, republican newcomers Chriss Kassin and Bill Shorma finished in the top two.
In District 19, incumbent republican Senator Kyle Schoenfish (shane-fish) defeated democrat Russell Graeff. (gray-f)
In District 21, incumbent republican Senator Erin Tobin defeated democrat Dan Andersson.
In Nebraska, Barry DeKay of Niobrara won the District 40 Senate seat with a fifty nine to forty percent margin over Keith Kube of Crofton.
