Nebraska Cattlemen Association members are hoping there’s still time for state senators to approve the measure calling for putting the Right to Farm law into the state constitution. Farm groups in the state are divided on the issue. However, Nebraska Cattlemen’s Executive Director Pete McClymont says the recent support for the measure voiced by Governor Ricketts should help their cause.
McClymont says there’s not a lot of time left in the 2016 session to be able to get the bill across the finish line.
He’s hoping state senators will realize how important this protection measure is to agriculture in Nebraska and see the need for voting for the legislation.
