Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton unveiled her rural agenda this week and is calling for more money to help beginning farmers and ranchers. Center for Rural Affairs Senior Policy Associate Traci Bruckner hopes that all of the Presidential Candidates are serious about providing assistance to farmers just getting started in the business.

Bruckner says it’s still difficult for younger producers trying to get into the business as many of the same challenges remain that have been there for a long time.

Bruckner says one of her groups top priorities when Congress returns to session next month will be to push them for crop insurance reform.

Besides helping beginning producers, Candidate Clinton is proposing to boost rural economic investment, increase agricultural production, promote clean energy an enhance access to health care and education.
