Climate Trends Point to Warmer, Drier Through Summer

Many of the forecast trends are pointing to a warmer, drier pattern as we get into the summer months.

Aaron Wilson, Climatologist at THE Ohio State University, moderated this month’s north central region climate update.
He says so far, they don’t see any development of an El Nino or La Nina…

That is the warming or cooling of the Pacific Ocean surface which can have a big impact on North American weather. Wilson says they will a better picture of that development later this year…

Wilson says they are seeing warming conditions across most of the region in July…

Wilson says that also means expanding drought conditions…

Wilson says they expect those trends to continue into September.
