Climate change is the focus of the University of Nebraska extension display at Husker Harvest Days.
Extension Educator Tyler Williams says he has talked with quite a few farmers who tell him they have begun to notice changes.https://soundcloud.com/wnax-radio/williams-914a
Williams says extension has advice on crops that both can survive prolonged drought and hold up under intense thunderstorms. It also calculates the economic impact of climate change.
Range and Forest Specialist Jerry Volesky says farmers need to be good weather observers, keeping “trigger dates” in mind. .
Voleskey says a good alternative forage plan can help livestock producers by planting annual forages at different times of the year to keep pasture fresh.
