The major topic of discussion at the Iowa Farmers Union Convention today and Saturday in Perry is climate change. IFU President Aaron Lehman says their main speakers will all be talking about the impact of climate change and how the agricultural industry holds the answer to this trend.
He says the recent Climate Change Report shows the negative impact of heat, drought and extreme weather on agriculture.
Lehman says there are steps farmers and ranchers can take to help mitigate the negative effects of climate change.
Lehman says the title of their convention is Resilience and Resolve in the Heartland. Ricardo Salvador of the Union of Concerned Scientists will give the keynote address Saturday afternoon.
